History of the Gobble Jog

The Beginning:

On Thanksgiving Day in 2003, nothing short of a miracle took place on the Historic Marietta Square. A family-friendly, holiday activity called the "Gobble Jog" was hosted for the first time, benefiting MUST Ministries.

Since the Gobble Jog has an event for everyone in the family, including a 10K run/walk, 5K, 1K, a "tot trot" for kids 5 and under, and volunteer opportunities galore. It has blossomed into an annual family tradition! This year will be the  and MUST is excited beyond measure to share that there will be an expected 7,000 participants!

With the funds raised, MUST is able to continue its efforts to help pave the way to a better way of life to feed, clothe, shelter and teach that cycle of homeless can in our community.

Gobble Jog Stats

2010 - Our goal: 7,000 race participants and to raise over $260,000
2009 - Our Goal: 6,500 race participants and raised over $230,000
2008 - 5,700 race participants and sponsors raised $163,000
2007 - 4,700 race participants and sponsors raised $120,000
2006 - 3,059 race participants and sponsors raised $100,000+
2005 - 2,286 race participants and sponsors raised $75,000+
2004 - 2037 race participants and sponsors raised $58,000+
2003 - 1,400 race participants and sponsors raised $29,000+

With $230,000 MUST Ministries will be able to...

  • Provide MUST Programs and Services for one month or
  • Provide one week of groceries for 2,261 families of four or
  • Provide meals for 75 children for one year while they live at MUST or
  • Provide deposits and down payments for 303 families entering permanent housing or
  • Provide toys and gifts through MUST Toy Shop for 2,100 children or
  • Provide financial assistance to 736 families for rent, utilities, and medical prescriptions
